DSWD chief joins groundbreaking of new assembly plant in CamSur

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian joins Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Maria Cristina Aldeguer-Roque and the local officials of Camarines Sur in the ceremonial groundbreaking of a new manufacturing plant located at the Provincial Capitol Complex in Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur on Wednesday (February 26).

The new manufacturing plant will be set up by the Veragon Technologies, a company that develops sustainable water solutions throughout Southeast Asia.

Representing the Veragon Technologies in the ceremony was their Chief Executive Officer and Founder Dr. Alessio Lucatelli.

Also present at the groundbreaking activity were Camarines Sur Congressman Luis Raymund “L-Ray” Villafuerte, Governor Luigi Villafuerte, and Vice Governor Sal Fortuno Jr.

The DSWD chief was accompanied by Field Office 5-Bicol Regional Director Norman Laurio.

DSWD chief lauds new assembly plant for better water access in CamSur

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian flew to Camarines Sur on Wednesday (February 26) to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of a new manufacturing hub at the Capitol Complex, Cadlan, in Pili town.

In his message of support, the DSWD chief commended the partnership of the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur with Veragon Technologies in setting up a new assembly plant that will ensure sustainable water access not only for agriculture and manufacturing activities, but also during disasters.

The Veragon Technologies is a company that develops sustainable water solutions throughout Southeast Asia.

“We can use Veragon Technologies for WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) to fight stunting, because water is crucial to fight stunting. At the same time, the other purpose is water during disasters – tubig pag may kalamidad. So the multiple use of Veragon Technologies is something that the DSWD is excited about,” Secretary Gatchalian said in his message.

Aside from sustainable water, Secretary Gatchalian also emphasized that the construction of the manufacturing hub is a symbol of pride and development for the province since Camarines Sur will be the first hub of Veragon in Southeast Asia.

“I would like to congratulate the Province of Camarines Sur and your leaders for leading the way toward multiple dimensions of development…they are turning your province into a manufacturing hub…that’s development already, that’s new investment, new jobs, and more importantly, that’s a seal na proudly made in the Philippines, proudly made in Camarines Sur,” the DSWD chief said.

The other officials present in the event were Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Maria Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, Veragon Technologies Chief Executive Officer and Founder Dr. Alessio Lucatelli, and DSWD Field Office 5- Bicol Regional Director Norman Laurio.
