Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian leads on Friday (June 27) the ceremonial blessing of the 20 electric buses intended for the use of Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SPLAs) composed of persons with disabilities (PWDs) at the Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City.
The e-buses, provided under the DSWD’s SLP, serve both as a livelihood resource and a safe mobility for persons with disabilities.
Through this initiative, the SLPAs will operate and manage the e-buses as a transport service, generating income while also promoting accessible transportation.
The DSWD aims to expand this initiative in the coming year, bringing inclusive and sustainable livelihood opportunities to more persons with disabilities nationwide.
Present during the blessing were Global Electric Transport (GET) Philippines Incorporated President Freddie Tinga; DSWD Undersecretary Monina Josefina Romualdez of the Operations Group ; and Asst. Secretary Florentino Loyola Jr of the Promotive Programs. (YADP)
