DSWD chief leads distribution of relief items to victims of fire incident in Quezon City

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo led the distribution of cash assistance, family food packs (FFPs), and other relief items to the families and individuals affected by the fire incident that occured at around 11:57 PM on September 7, in Barangay Obrero, Quezon City

As of September 9, a total of 59 families or 236 were affected. Of these, 34 families or 136 persons are currently taking temporary shelter at the Don Alejandro Roces High School Science Technology Institute.

The DSWD, through its Field Office-National Capital Region (FO-NCR), has provided 70 FFPs and a total of ₱40,460.00 worth of assistance to the affected families.

The Social Services and Development Department (SSDD) of Quezon City also provided hot meals and other basic needs for the fire victims.

Meanwhile, a total of P517.03 million Quick Response Fund (QRF) and P5 million standby funds are available at the DSWD Central Office and FO NCR, respectively.

In addition, there are 86,039 FFPs available at the Disaster Response Centers; of which, 44,210 FFPs are at the National Resource Operations Center (NROC), and 41,829 FFPs are at the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC), Mandaue City. Likewise, 18,907 FFPs are still available at DSWD FO NCR, and ₱109.2 million worth of food and non-food items (FNIs) at NROC, VDRC, and DSWD FO NCR warehouses are all ready to be used to augment the resources of LGUs that will be affected by various disasters and emergencies.
