DSWD chief takes 4Ps ‘kamustahan’ to Pampanga

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Thursday (September 11) goes to Pampanga for his listening tour with 25 Aeta parent-leaders who shared their experiences as beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The ‘kamustahan’ session held at the Lubao Municipal Gym is line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to review the relevancy of compulsory exit of beneficiaries after seven years as mandated by the 4Ps Act. Joining the conversations with parent leaders were Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, a staunch supporter of the 4Ps, and DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao.

Earlier, the DSWD chief also had ‘kamustahan’ sessions in the provinces of Quirino, Aurora, and Isabela. (GDVF)

DSWD chief checks on AKAP pay-out for over 1K fisherfolk in Pampanga

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Thursday (September 11) oversees the pay-out for 1,376 fisherfolk beneficiaries of the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) in Pampanga.

The AKAP provides financial assistance to individuals earning below the minimum wage to help them cope with the effects of inflation and economic hardships, based on assessment of social workers.

The DSWD chief was joined by Pampanga Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda, Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao of the DSWD’s Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) and DSWD Field Office 3- Central Luzon Director Venus Rebuldela. (GDVF)
