DSWD chief visits Bahay Pag-Asa in Valenzuela City

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian visited on Wednesday (December 3) the Bahay Pag-Asa facility in Barangay Canumay West, Valenzuela City to check on the welfare and situation of the children in conflict with the law (CICL) currently under the facility’s care.

Secretary engaged the children in conversations and distributed gifts to bring the spirit of the holiday season to the facility.

DSWD chief visits Bahay Pag-Asa

Bahay Pag-asa is a 24-hour child-caring institution established and funded by the local government unit (LGU) and monitored by the DSWD.

The facility implements a rehabilitation program focused on the healing, behavioral development, and transformation of CICL aged above 12 and below 18 years who are awaiting court disposition or transfer to appropriate agencies or jurisdictions. (KB)
