DSWD chief visits Iloilo all-women embroiders’ association

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian listens attentively to the song performed by the members of the Women United Through Handcrafted Lace and Embroidery (WUTHLE) Livelihood Association during his visit to their center in Brgy. Inangayan, Santa Barbara, Iloilo on Wednesday (September 17).

The elderly members of the association showcased their embroidery skills and designs to Secretary Gatchalian. The WUTHLE Livelihood Association is one of the beneficiaries of the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Joining Secretary Gatchalian in his visit were Santa Barbara Mayor Dennis Superficial, Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao, and OIC-Regional Director Joselito Estember of DSWD Field Office 6-Western Visayas. (AKDL)
