Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Wednesday (December 11) presided a round table discussion with stakeholders to identify actions to curb the proliferation of fake persons with disabilities identification cards (IDs).
During the meeting at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City, Secretary Gatchalian presented the DSWD’s plan to roll out a unified Persons with Disabilities ID System which will employ a web-based portal that can be used for real-time updating and ID verification by establishments.
Also in the meeting were DSWD Undersecretary for International Affairs and Attached and Supervised Agencies Emmeline Villar and Asst. Secretary Elaine Fallarcuna.
