Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary Fatima Aliah Dimaporo of the Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs presents on Monday (June 30) the agency’s initiatives and contributions to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of a hunger-free Philippines and single-digit poverty incidence by 2028.
In her speech at the Philippine Poverty Reduction Summit 2025 in Quezon City, Undersecretary Dimaporo highlighted the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) — the flagship poverty alleviation initiative of the national government that provides conditional cash transfers to poor households to improve their children’s health, nutrition, and education for a maximum of seven years.
Undersecretary Dimaporo also discussed the First 1,000 Days of Life (F1KD), an additional health and nutrition support for 4Ps households with pregnant women and children aged 0-2 years. This new initiative seeks to strengthen the government’s campaign against stunting and malnutrition.
Capping off her presentation, Undersecretary Dimaporo discussed the Walang Gutom Program (WGP) which aims to address hunger and promote healthy eating habits to better support the nutritional needs of food-poor Filipino families.
The Philippine Poverty Reduction Summit 2025 was organized by the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), one of the supervised agencies of the DSWD, with more than 750 delegates from the government, basic and private sectors, local government units (LGUs), and international partners. (YADP)
