DSWD execs attend Senate hearing on Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro ‘ayuda’ scam

Davao de Oro ‘ayuda’ scam

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary for Legislative Liaison and Coordination Group Fatima Aliah Q. Dimaporo attends on Tuesday (January 23) the Senate hearing on the alleged ‘ayuda’ scam in Davao de Oro and Davao del Norte that transpired during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections last October 2023.

In her opening message, Usec. Dimaporo emphasizes that the agency’s program and services, such as the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, are properly implemented based on existing guidelines in the DSWD.

Presiding over the committee hearing is Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs chair, Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, with committee vice chairpersons, Sen. Christopher Bong Go, Sen. Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada, and Sen. Francis Tolentino attending.

Joining Usec. Dimaporo in the hearing are Asst. Secretary for Strategic Communications Romel M. Lopez; DSWD Field Office-12 (Davao Region) Regional Director Vanessa Goc-Ong; and Edwin Morata, OIC Division Chief of Program Management Bureau – Crisis Intervention Division of the DSWD Central Office.

Concerned officials from the local and provincial government units were also present in the hearing.
