DSWD goes to Al Khobar for ‘Bagong Bayani Caravan’ for Saudi OFWs

Social workers of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led by Asst. Secretary Ada Colico of the Protective Services, on Friday (August 15) join other government agencies to provide various services to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) during the first day of the ‘Bagong Bayani ng Mundo Serbisyo Caravan’ at the Sofitel Hotel in Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

DSWD personnel were able to answer OFWs’ inquiries regarding the agency’s programs and services such as the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), programs for solo parents, and the Minors Traveling Abroad (MTA) clearance.

Bagong Bayani Caravan for Saudi OFWs

The other participating government agencies in the ‘Caravan’ were the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Social Security System (SSS), and the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP). The caravan was organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) to provide immediate and accessible government services to Filipinos abroad.
