The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to bring social protection programs and services closer to the poor communities across the country through its active participation in the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) Mini Caravans.
Since the PCUP led-caravans kicked off in July, these have served as a venue for the DSWD and other participating agencies to provide assistance and inform the public of the services that they can avail of, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic.
DSWD-Field Office (FO) III and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (M/CSWDO) of Arayat, Pampanga joined the PCUP activity and conducted information caravans, consultation and orientation on July 14.
Meanwhile, aside from information dissemination, DSWD-FO VIII, through its Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU), also distributed financial assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS), to clients from the nearby barangays of Palanog in Tacloban City on August 27.
Likewise, MSWDO of Makilala, North Cotabato conducted consultation and evaluation for possible AICS beneficiaries and released the Identification Cards of some Person with Disability (PWDs) at Malasila Elementary School on September 8.
The PCUP Mini Caravans, which serve as a one-stop-shop of services for the people, will run until the end of the year.
