On behalf of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Undersecretary Monina Josefina Romualdez of the agency’s Operations Group signs a pledge of commitment on Thursday (August 14) in support of the efficient implementation of the newly-launched revised protocol for the case management of child victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation and discrimination (CANE+D).
The commitment signing is part of the national launch of the enhanced protocol held at the Department of Justice (DOJ) office in Padre Faura, Manila.
The revised protocol serves as a guide to provide a comprehensive and systematic approach for duty-bearers handling and managing cases of child abuse, neglect, exploitation, and discrimination as it includes guidelines for identification, reporting, investigation, management, legal proceedings, rehabilitation, reintegration and prevention of these cases.
The other agency officials representing their respective agency heads in the activity include DOJ Undersecretaries Raul Vasquez, Jesse Hermogenes Andres, and Fredderick Vida; Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Chairperson Richard Palpal-latoc; National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Jaime Santiago; Bureau of Immigration (BI) Deputy Commissioner Joel Alejandro Nacnac; Department of Education (DepEd) Asst. Secretary Georgina Ann Yang; PBGEN Maria Sheila Portento of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC); Department of Health (DOH) Head Executive Assistant Vida Aquino; Department of Tourism (DOT) Director Glen Ocampo; and, DSWD Director Mary Grace Alboladura.
