DSWD receives donated ambulance units, wheelchairs

Wheelchairs and Ambulances from Pitmaster Foundation

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo expresses his gratitude to the Pitmaster Foundation, represented by Executive Director Atty. Caroline Cruz, as he receives the foundation’s donation of two ambulance units and 144 wheelchairs on Monday, August 1, at the DSWD Central Office.

During the turnover, the Secretary affirmed that the donated units will be beneficial to the clientele of the Department, especially the persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens asking for assistance from the Department.

“Magagamit po namin ‘yan kasi marami po tayo ditong mga senior citizen na bigla na lang nanghihina d’yan sa mga tent namin. Kailangan po naming isugod sa mga ospital or kaya ihatid po sa mga pinakamalapit na sakayan. So that is very helpful and very timely po” (We are sure that we can use that [donated ambulance units] because there are some senior citizens [in line] who suddenly feel weak in our tents. We have to rush them to hospitals or take them to the nearest transport station. So that is very helpful and very timely), the Secretary added.
