DSWD showcases smarter, faster disaster response on National Disaster Resilience Month

In celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) this July, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Monday (July 21) holds a walk-through exhibit showcasing the agency’s key systems, operational tools, and innovations that define its readiness to respond to any kind of disaster.

Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe of the DSWD’s Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) led the kick-off ceremony for the NDRM celebration and the walk-through which was attended by agency officials and employees.

Featured at the weeklong exhibit from July 21 to 25 at the DSWD Central Office grounds are the ideal evacuation centers, mobile command center assets, mobile kitchen serving hot meals, protective mechanisms for internally displaced persons, and early recovery mechanisms and tools.

The DSWD activity is anchored on the NDRM theme, “KUMIKILOS—para sa Kahandaan, Kaligtasan at Katatagan.” (MBM).
