Mall-goers can now conveniently access the programs and services of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as the DSWD brings its Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas (PBP) Hub to several branches of SM Supermalls across Metro Manila.
The PBP Hub is now operational at the Ground Floor of SM City Marikina and SM City Caloocan, and at the 3rd Floor Cyberzone of SM City Sta. Mesa.
“Gusto nating mas mailapit ang ating mga programa sa ating mga kababayan. Kung mayroon kayong gustong malaman na impormasyon tungkol sa mga programa ng DSWD, maaari kayong lumapit sa aming mga hubs. Mayroon kaming mga Angels in Red Vest na naka-station doon para ipaliwanag sa inyo ang aming mga serbisyo,” Asst. Secretary Irene Dumlao said on Friday (February 27).
Asst. Secretary Dumlao, the DSWD spokesperson, said additional hubs will soon be established in the different SM Supermalls in the National Capital Region (NCR).
From March to June, PBP hubs will be set up in SM Manila, SM San Lazaro, SM Megamall, SM SM Center Pasig, SM City Sucat, SM City Bicutan, SM Southmall, SM Center Muntinlupa, SM City BF Paranaque, SM City Grand Central, SM City Sangandaan, SM Mall of Asia, SM Makati, SM City Valenzuela, and SM City Novaliches.
The PBP Hub serves as a multi-service center where on-site profiling and registration of beneficiaries are conducted through the Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas Registry. It facilitates assessment and ensures that families are referred and linked to specific DSWD programs that directly address their needs.
According to Asst. Secretary Dumlao, the establishment of hubs in major malls is part of the DSWD’s continuing efforts to bring government services closer to the people.
“Through the Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas Hub, mas pinapadali natin ang pag-access ng mga pamilya sa mga programa ng DSWD. Hindi na nila kailangang magtungo sa malalayong opisina dahil narito na tayo sa mga lugar na madalas nilang puntahan,” the DSWD spokesperson pointed out.
“Ang PBP Hub ay hindi lamang registration center. Dito natin ginagawa ang actual profiling gamit ang registry, sinusuri ang kalagayan ng pamilya, at iniuugnay sila sa tamang intervention—whether it is financial assistance, livelihood support, or other social protection services,” Asst. Secretary Dumlao added.
The Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas initiative is a directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. aimed at streamlining access and bringing government programs closer to every Filipino family under the banner of a Bagong Pilipinas. (YADP)
