Eatery cashier perishes in fire in Sampaloc

A cashier working at an eatery on sa G.Tuazon St.,Barangay 414, Sampaloc, Manila, died when she failed to get out of the mezzanine where she was staying, as fire hit the said residential- commercial structure early yesterday morning.

The Manila Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said that the victim, identified only as ‘Teresa’, 50, a stay-in employee at the Pansitan eatery owned by one Eclips Luna, was sleeping along with some co-workers when the fire took place.

The fire that began at 3:20 a.m. reached first alarm and was declared as ‘fire out ‘ at 4:12 a.m.

Barangay Kagawad Roland Purification said they used eight to ten fire extinguishers to put out the fire but that they were not enough to put out the flames.

The victim’s two fellow stay-in employees who were sleeping on the first floor managed to get out of the establishment during the fire that began in the kitchen and main door.

Probers are looking into the cause of fire which left a P100,000 estimated damage to property.
