GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija — The Interim Division VI office of the National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation Systems (NIA-UPRIIS) based here bagged the “Best in Water Management” award for this year.
Dr. Jose Ariel G. Domingo, interim Division 6 manager, received the citation from Engr. Rose B. Bote, UPRIIS department manager, during simple rites held at the NIA-Pantabangan Lake Resort Hotel last Friday.
Bote said Domingo’s accomplishments and his men were recognized for attaining an effective, efficient, and equitable water distribution scheme this calendar year 2020 that resulted in having satisfied farmer-beneficiaries.
Domingo’s Interim Division VI bested six other division units, including the Dam and Reservoir Division, it was learned.
Domingo said the citation bestowed on them was timely because, despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were still able to pull off the feat by practicing proper management and efficient distribution of irrigation water.
He added that his men’s so-called best practices benefitted 14,405 farmers belonging to 14 irrigators’ groups with a total service area of about 22,000 hectares.
“Very timely ang award na iginawad sa amin dahil sa kabila ng pandemiya ay naisagawa pa din namin ang pag-titipid ng supply ng tubig-irigasyon sa aming mga intended beneficiaries,” said Domingo.
He added that his division is not affected by the reduction of programmed areas for irrigation services for the dry season cropping 2021 unlike other areas under other division’s supervision.
“Well-allocated ang patubig natin sa lahat ng ating magsasaka dito sa aking AOR,” Domingo said.Publication Source : People's Tonight
