CARRANGLAN, Nueva Ecija — A police manhunt operation launched here on Sunday night led to the arrest of a 33-year-old man wanted for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Violence against Women and Children Act, it was learned yesterday.
Capt. Alexander V. Pranada, town police head, identified the arrested suspect as Leonardo Danilo Magat II, of Bgy. Joson here.
Magat II was arrested on the strength of a arrest warrant issued by San Jose City Regional Trial Court Judge Leo Cecilio D. Bautista, of branch, with a recommended bail of P72,000.
Col. Marvin Joe C. Saro, provincial police director,said the arrest warrant was dated December 12, 2019 and was received by his men on January 7, this year.
Saro said a commitment order from the local court is being awaited for proper disposition of the arrested suspect, who is now locked up here.
