Ecija cops solve carnapping case within one-a-half hour

QUEZON, Nueva Ecija — Police solved a carnapping incident within an hour-and a-half after the two perpetrators were arrested and the stolen motorcycle recovered during dragnet operations conducted in nearby Guimba town on Friday.

Provincial police-officer-in-charge Col. Marvin Joe C. Saro identified the arrested suspects as Rygen Bartolome, 16, of Bgy. Cawayan Bugtong, and Adrian John Fabro, 18, of Bgy. Saranay, both of Guimba.

The suspects were nabbed while riding the stolen red Honda TMX 125 motorcycle which they forcibly took from its owner, Noel Bernardo, 41, while the vehicle was parked in front of the United Methodist Church in Bgy. Dulong-bayan, Quezon at 4:20 p.m.

Saro said members of the Guimba police conducting the dragnet operation in Bgy. Banitan flagged down the two motorcycle-riding suspects after their vehicle matched the description of the victim’s vehicle covered by the flash alarm.

The suspects were arrested at 5:50 p.m.

Saro said the arrested suspects were turned over to the police here for proper disposition while the recovered motorcycle was returned to its owner.
