Ecija farmer shot dead

SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija — A farmer was shot dead by an unidentified man while walking on his way home on Sunday night.

Police Major Rammel Ebarle identified the fatality as Richard Gregorio, 40, of Maligaya St., Purok 6, Bgy. Luyos.

The gun attack occurred at 6:30 p.m. and was perpetrated by an unidentified man wearing a face mask and a jacket with hood.

Investigation showed the suspect approached the victim then shot him repeatedly four times and later pumped three more bullets to his body.

Ebarle said the suspect then fled to an unknown direction.

He added that witnesses later saw the victim lying lifeless on the ground with blood oozing from different parts of his body.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing.
