CABANATUAN CITY – More than 20 members of the Nueva Ecija Press Club Inc. tested negative after taking the rapid anti-body COVID-19 test provided for free by the provincial government through the provincial health office.

The rapid testing which was conducted at the NEPCI Bldg. on Monday by the PHO, was prompted by reports that a government official, who attended an affair here and in Palayan City had a close aide who was recently tested positive of the coronavirus-19 disease.

Agapito Linsangan, NEPCI president, thanked Gov. Aurelio M. Umali for responding swiftly to the rapid test request of the mediamen, who actually covered the twin events which were held on August 28.

“Pagpapatunay lamang ito ng tunay na malasakit ni Governor Umali sa mga mamahayag sa lalawigan upang matiyak na sila ay ligtas mula sa COVID-19,” said Linsangan.

He added that members of the media are among the vulnerable sectors prone to the deadly disease as they go to various places to talk to different people and their sources to get the news.
