A SUSPECTED leader of a drug trafficking gang in Baguio City and his female pal were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in a buy-bust operation, PDEA chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino said.
Daniel Tan Cole alias ‘Jan-Jan/Tisoy,’ the 41-year old suspected leader of the Tisoy Drug Group and Rachel Anne Orimita,29, were placed under arrest after they conspired to sell shabu to an undercover officer at the parking area of Cooyesan Mall in Barangay Cooyesan, San Luis, Baguio City, the official said.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some 33 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P225,000 and the marked money they received from the undercover agent.
Aquino said that PDEA Cordillera regional office operatives also impounded a Nissan Safari SUV used by the duo in transporting the drugs.
The two are now being held at the Cordillera PDEA detention facility facing non-bailable charges for selling and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Aquino.
