PHILIPPINE National Police Officer-in-Charge (PNP-OIC), Lieutenant General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar yesterday said that only non-essential travel to and from the National Capital Region ‘bubble’ is prohibited in the next two weeks.
However, tourism and staycation activities within Metro Manila and the provinces of Rizal, Laguna, Cavite and Bulacan are still allowed, he added.
“Within the bubble siya so walang problema ‘yun, allowed siya. Ang hindi lang pwede is lalabas ka ng bubble para pumunta doon,” the official said.
That means residents of the metropolis wanting to have a ‘staycation’ in a Metro Manila hotel are allowed and they can also go to hotels in Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Rizal.
“For example, galing ka sa Metro Manila, pupunta ka staycation sa Tagaytay, pwede po ‘yun. Pwede rin sa Laguna, pwede rin sa Bulacan. Pero kung ikaw ay from Manila punta ka ng Boracay, ‘yun ang magiging problema natin dahil hindi kasama o non-essential pati na rin ‘yung tourism kung sa ganitong usapin,” Eleazar explained.
The PNP has established Quarantine Control Points in the following areas:
Cavite to Batangas boundaries: Barangay Amuyong in Alfonzo, Cavite to Nasugbu, Batangas; Bgy. Sapang 1 in Ternate, Cavite to Nasugbu; Bgy. Sungat East in Tagaytay City to Bgy. Guillermo in Talisay, Batangas; Bgy. San Jose, Tagaytay City to Bgy. Caloocan in Talisay;
Laguna to Batangas boundaries: Bgy. Makiling, Calamba City to Sto. Tomas, Batangas; Bgy. San Agustin in Alaminos, Laguna to Sto. Tomas City, Batangas;
Laguna to Quezon boundaries:
Bgy. San Antonio II in San Pablo City, Laguna to Tiaong, Quezon; Bgy. San Antonio Luisiana, Laguna to Lucban, Quezon; Bgy. Tunhac in Famy, Laguna to Real, Quezon; Bgy. San Isidro in Majayjay Madlena Road, Laguna to Lucban, Quezon;
