Marawi Engineered Sanitary Lanfill

Officials of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (inset) unveil the marker of the 31.7-hectare Category IV Engineered Sanitary Landfill (SLF) located between Brgy. Malimono, Marawi City and Brgy. Kasanayan, Municipality of Kapai in the province of Lanao del Sur to formally turn over the SLF to the local government of Lanao del Sur on June 28, 2022. The facility is the DENR’s contribution to the Comprehensive Marawi Recovery, Reconstruction, and Rehabilitation Program. DENR Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs Michelle Angelica Go, head of the DENR Sub-Committee on Task Force Bangon Marawi with Assistant Secretary for Field Operations Western Mindanao Arleigh J. Adorable, Assistant Secretary for Human Resources, Strategic Communication and Sectoral Initiatives Hiro V. Masuda, Environmental Management Bureau Region 10 Director Reynaldo Digamo, Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra, and Lanao del Sur Provincial Government Mamintal Adiong Jr. were present in the ceremony.
