Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder reunite in this year’s highly-anticipated romance-comedy, Destination Wedding.
Frank (Keanu Reeves), the groom’s half-brother and Lindsay (Winona Ryder), the groom’s former fiance meet on the way to a romantic vineyard wedding in Central California and instantly hated one another.
Forced to tolerate each other for three days, Lindsay and Frank discover that they share the same room and cynical sense of humor; and formed an alliance to trash the rest of the wedding party, critique the bride and groom, and heckle old movies on television.
A brush with danger brings them unexpectedly close, but it remains to be seen if they can -- or even want to -- continue their cockeyed romance in the real world.
After acting in three films together, including Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 costume spectacle Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Richard Linklater’s animated adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s A Scanner Darkly, Reeves and Ryder have an easy on-screen rapport that reflects their off-screen friendship.
According to film director Victor Levin (Mad About You, Mad Men), Reeves and Ryder’s relationship was a massive asset. “You can’t direct people to have chemistry. The chemistry has to be there, and the director’s job is to make the very best use of it,” he added.
