AFTER attending the storycon of “Primadonnas”, her new soap with GMA-7, Aiko Melendez left for Las Vegas, USA, to join her Mommy Elsie and her two kids, Andre and Marthena.
“Magbabakasyon muna ako bago magsimula ang taping ng ‘Primadonnas’ kasi once it starts, hindi na ko makakaalis agad-agad,” she says. "And I really want to thank GMA for allowing me to go to the U.S. muna bago ako mag-taping para sa bago kong show sa kanila."
Aiko left amidst rumors that she was dumped by her boyfriend, Vice Governor-elect of Zambales, Jay Khonghun, after she helped him campaign during the recent elections. Jay even reportedly sent back all the things she left behind in Zambales to her home in Quezon City. Aiko made a long post about this in her social media account.
She wrote: "No truth to the rumors, that Jay Khonghun sent my things over and pinalayas daw po ako. Nakakatawa 'yung pinalayas ?? Una, our usapan was 45 days lang ako roon . Di naman kami live-in po, Tumulong ako sa kampanya pero uuwi rin ako sa bahay ko after, kasi kasama ko mga anak ko dun. I just want to make it clear po na pinakuha ko po mga gamit ko coz most of the clothes, that I left in their Subic home, were the ones na kasya sa akin. Actually narealized ko maluwag na rin. Being the prudent that I am, ayaw ko bumili ng bago, kasi nga yung weight loss ko every week, nagbabago. Pinakiusapan ko siya baka pwede ipadala niya mga gamit ko and he did through his staff."
She does admit that she and her BF are going through some rough patch in their relationship. "Aaminin ko po, Jay and I are just like ordinary couples who go thru arguments and little fights. Mostly we fight about him being careless and insensitive with my emotions, Probably because he is busy and now ako naman ang magiging busy. We fight about jealousy, well, mostly sa part nya po. Ah-ha-ha. But minsan I get jealous din, lalo na pag me suspicious text from a girl that he would always honestly tell me. Our golden rule was never to make pakialam each other’s phone, Kumbaga privacy namen yun kaya pansin nyo phone ni VG, may takip. i never actually questioned him and doubted him kasi lagi asa isip ko di naman nya magagawa yan, pagkatapos ng lahat lahat ng sakripisyo ko para sa kanya, about sino katext or kausap niya.
"Mainly because I am very secure of where I stand, and also sa pagkakaalam ko rin wala naman daw ako dapat ikaselos, Ewan ko na lang after this post kung meron ba dapat. Hahahaha! And i am also secure that Jay sees me on a different level now, coz kahit nga kayo nagulat sa ginawa ko during the elections. And di mapapantayan ang bonding moments namen ni Jay during the elections. Sobra. Sabi nga ng isang bakla kong friend, 'Madam, daig mo ang pa isang tunay na bakla kung magmahal!!!' Ganun ako sa lahat, e. When I love, I give my all.
"Mahal ko rin ang Zambales, kasi napalapit kayo sa puso ko. Dahil na dn siguro sa maiksing panahon, nakita ko rin kung gaano nyo ako kamahal. Ewan ko kung sakali man di kami magkatuluyan ni Jay, hindi ko alam kung mamahalin nyo kung sino ang susunod na ipapalit nya sa akin, kagaya ng pagmamahal na binibigay nyo sa akin. Ang dasal ko lang is whoever she maybe, I Hope and Pray that she sees Zambales the way that I do. Hoping the sincerity, care and compassion that I gave Zambales, kung hindi mahigitan, mapantayan man lang. Ako I'm being Honest that Jay and I are going through a phase now. Because I am a celebrity and politician, may tsismis at tsismis talaga. So gusto ko, sa akin galing, para ’di kulang, ’di sobra, but I do hope also for now, I won’t get into details. And sana since nag-share naman ako, kahit paano, ibalato nyo na sa akin na wag nang idetalye."
Aiko really gave her all for Jay. She even hosted a special presscon just for him when his name was implicated in the PDEA narco-list for illegal drugs. She also filed a case of libel against the incumbent Zambales vice governor. So it really came as a surprise that right after the election, there’s this story that their relationship has ended. Whatever phase they are going through right now, here’s hoping they’d still be able to iron things out since they’ve already gone through so much and Aiko has really done a lot for Jay to help him win in the last elections. Upon Aiko’s return to Manila, she will start taping her new soap, “Primadonnas”, to be topbilled by young actresses Jillian Ward, Sofia Pablo, Althea Ablan and Elijah Alejo, directed by Gina Alajar. This is her comeback project as a Kapuso since her last show with them was the afternoon soap, “Basahang Ginto”, in 2010.
