ALDEN Richards’ career will definitely get a big boost with his coming movie in Star Cinema opposite Kathryn Bernardo. Right now, his only regular exposure is in the noontime shows, “Eat Bulaga” and “Sunday Pinasaya”. He is really wasting his youth and popularity away because he has no exposure on the big screen. It’s good GMA allowed him to do a movie with the film arm of their rival network, just like what they did with Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado who did hit movies with Star Cinema.

Doing a movie outside of GMA will surely be beneficial to Alden's career, as it was for Dingdong who even won two best actor awards for the movies he did with Star. His movie with Kathryn is to be directed by Cathy Garcia Molina, a certified hitmaker who earlier announced that she will retire but she must have changed her mind.

Alden is part of the popular AlDub love team with Maine Mendoza while Kathryn is part of the KathNiel love team with Daniel Padilla. Doing movies with other partners will surely help them grow in their respective careers. Fans of their respective love teams might be very possessive, but they now have no choice but to accept the fact that their idols are in projects pairing them with other stars. Alden is asking all his fans to support his first movie with another lead actress.

“Kathryn and I are happy to work together for the first time,” he says. “We’re asking our fans to be open-minded about this. Trabaho lang po ito, for professional purposes para makapagbigay ng saya sa mga manonood, walang personalan. I really appreciate it that it will help me explore my craft and capabilities as an actor. In return, we promise to do our best to make this a truly good and entertaining movie under the direction of Direk Cathy.”

We’re very optimistic that this first pairing of Alden and Kathryn, which will be shot on location in Hong Kong, will be a big hit, what with Star Cinema producing it and Cathy Molina directing it, both of whom have excellent track records at the box office.
