SA kabila ng kanyang pagiging abala sa kanyang singing career, nakapagtapos ang 18-year-old Fil-Canadian singer-actor na si Darren Espanto ng kanyang high school (Grade 12) sa Homeschool of Asia Pacific -HAP with honors. Ang nasabing school ay affiliate ng Sanston Academy in Texas, and he was named first honor. Bukod dito, tumanggap din siya ng dalawa pang awards – The Achiever Award and Excellence in Music and Arts na iginawad sa kanya ni Mrs. Beverly Santos-Alarcon, ang directress ng Homeschool of Asia Pacific na dinaluhan ng kanyang family (in Canada) at ibang mga kaanak.
Ngayong tapos na si Darren ng high school, gusto niyang ipagpatuloy ang kanyang pag-aaral either sa medical school o business management.
Ang pamilya ni Darren ay naka-base sa Canada. Nabago ang takbo ng kanyang career when he joined the first season of The Voice Kids – Philippines in 2014 at age 14 where he came second to Lyca Gairanod. He was signed up by MCA Music Philippines and managed by Star Magic. He was also the youngest performer to fill-up MOA Arena at age 14 in May 2015. Ang kanyang debut album na “Warren” ay umabot ng double platinum na sinundan ng kanyang platinum second album na “Be With Me”. Ang kanyang acting debut ay nangyari sa pelikulang “The Hows of Us” in 2018 na tinampukan nina Kathryn Bernardo at Daniel Padilla. Ang nasabing pelikula ay dineklarang highest Filipino grossing film of all time in 2018 bago ang 2019 movie nina Kathryn at Alden Richards na “Hello, Love, Goodbye” na parehong dinirek ni Cathy Garcia-Molina under Star Cinema.
Si Darren ay parehong malapit na kaibigan ng unica hija ng mag-asawang Dingdong Avanzado at Jessa Zaragoza na si Jayda at sa twins nina Zoren Legaspi at Carmina Villarroel na sina Cassy at Mavy.
Darren was 10 when he joined Pinoy Singing Sensation back in Edmonton, Canada. He had his first appearance on TV nang siya’y sumali sa reality show on TV na “The Next Star” also in Canada nung 2012 and was the youngest finalist sa kasaysayan ng programa. Siya’y umabot sa Top 6. Two years later ay sumali siya sa first season ng The Voice Kids (Philippines) where he placed second to Lyca Gairanod at dito siya nagsimulang makilala. He also relocated in Manila since then.
