Dingdong, pa-expire ang kontrata sa Kapuso channel

Dingdong Dantes

2018 MMFF, record breaking ang kinita.

Pa-expire na ang kontrata ni Dingdong Dantes sa GMA network ngayong Jan. 15. But of course, sure naman kaming mayroong offer for contract renewal lalo pa nga’t may dalawa pang ongoing shows ang Kapuso Primetime King sa istasyon -- ang seryeng Cain at Abel with Dennis Trillo at ang informative show na Amazing Earth.

Matatandaang ni-reveal na nila that they’re having a baby boy kaya masayang-masaya ang mag-asawa dahil may isang babae at isang lalaki na sila.

Naglabas na ng overall gross ang Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Nagpadala ng e-mail ang spokesperson ng MMFF na si Noel Ferrer ng official statement coming from Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Danilo Lim.

Ayon sa statement, this year’s festival “has created a new record” dahil as of Jan. 7, pagtatapos ng filmfest,  mahigit isang bilyon ang kinita ng pinagsama-samang eight entries at na-surpass ang gross ng nakaraang taon.

Narito ang kabuuan ng offcial statement:

“As the Metro Manila Film Festival 2018 closed yesterday, we thank everyone who participated and supported the biggest and longest-running local film festival in the country.

“Despite the incessant rain during the Holiday season, we braved and survived the storms and have created new records:

“1. The 44th MMFF  surpassed previous Christmas and New Year box-office grosses;

“2.  On Sunday, January 6, we hit the P1-billion mark and exceeded 2017’s  box office earnings;

“3. As the theaters closed on January 7, last day of the festival, we have set a new record as the highest-grossing MMFF ever -- earning over P1.060 billion, P10 million more than the 2015 record of P1.050 billion.

“We would like to make special mention of the production and the public support during the Gabi ng Parangal -- where all the films and major actors were represented and accepted the very credible results from the MMFF jury.

“We are happy to announce that most of the film entries are still on extended run in cinemas nationwide. Everyone can still catch these films.

“Next year, we will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the MMFF coinciding with the celebration of the Centennial of Philippine Cinema.

“We want to continue the partnership and prepare for it early on. We look forward to more significant and groundbreaking entries and activities that would further develop the audiences’ love for Filipino films, develop and discover new talents through the student short films, and maximize exposure and linkages with international festivals.

“Sama-sama nating pagsisikapang mapaunlad pa ang MMFF.

“Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino!

“Maraming salamat sa inyong suporta sa Metro Manila Film Festival.”
