An even busier new year for Alden

ALDEN Richards says the passing year 2019 has definitely been a good one for him. After all, he became local filmdom’s top box office male lead for “Hello Love Goodbye” and he also won the Asian Star Prize in the Korean Drama Awards. His primetime soap, “The Gift”, is always trending and its loyal followers just love it and continue to praise his acting as the blind hero.

Now, it looks like 2020 will be even brighter. He’s hosting the GMA New Year Countdown to welcome the New Year and on January 5, he will be one of the main stars of GMA-7’s new comedy-variety show, “All Out Sunday”, and he’s getting new movie offers.

“I’m really thankful kay Lord for all His blessings given to me dito sa lilipas na taon,” says the Pambansang Bae. “Sana magtuluy-tuloy lang ang pagdating ng mga biyaya Niya sa 2020.”

“The Gift” is extended until February. It rated very high recently. This is in the episode where his mom, Jean Garcia as Nadia, finally learns the truth that Alden as Sep is her long-lost son that she has been searching for since she lost him in Quiapo several moons ago.

It was a very tearful reunion for mother and son that no doubt made the show’s faithful followers shed tons of tears. Jean is very remorseful because she has been so critical of Sep, considering him the mortal enemy of their family, entirely clueless that it’s really her politically-motivated husband Christian Vasquez as Javier and their son Martin del Rosario as Jared, both hungry for power, who are the real villains masterminding the crimes in their community. The next few episodes will spring more twists and turns in the narrative, so don’t be surprised if the show’s ratings would go even higher.

Alden shows in each episode also continues to garner more praises from viewers.

Meantime, Alden will be coming home anytime now from Korea, where he spent Christmas with his family for a well-deserved vacation, and resume taping for “The Gift”. We heard Alden just slept most of the time in his hotel room. “Kulang na kulang kasi siya sa tulog kapag nandito siya sa dami ng trabaho,” says someone close to him. “Doon lang siya nakabawi nang husto at nakapag-rest nang maayos.”

As for his lovelife, some fans are linking him to a Korean actress and to former Miss Universe Catriona Gray, but Catriona herself already declared that she has not even met Alden in person.
