JUKEBOX Queen, Asia’s Sentimental Songstress, KAPPT president, entrepreneur and Camarines Sur vice-governor Imelda Papin made history as she filled-up the 55,000-seater Philippine Arena last Saturday, October 26, when she mounted her 45th anniversary in the entertainment business. Billed as “IMELDA PAPIN: Queen @ 45 Anniversary Concert” and directed by Joane Laygo with Mel Villena as musical director, the concert was jointly produced by Dream Wings Productions and Papin Entertainment Productions.
Naging special guest ni Imelda sina LA Santos, ang anak niyang si Maffi Papin, her sisters Gloria and Aileen Papin, her three grandchildren, Gary Cruz, Andrew E., April Boy Regino, Claire de la Fuente, Eva Eugenio, Darius Razon, Jovit Baldivino, Marco Sison, Pilita Corrales, Sonny Parsons and Victor Wood.
Until dumating ang araw ng Sabado, October 26 when people started to arrive in droves at the Philippine Arena hapon pa lamang. No other local artists attempted to hold concert at the Philippine Arena dahil bukod sa malayo ito (Santa Maria, Bulacan), napakalaki nito (55,000 seater) para punuin.
Ang mga pinasikat na awitin ni Imelda at the peak of her popularity ay nagmistulang `national anthem’ ng mga taong nasa audience ng Philippine Arena dahil sinasabayan nila ang pag-awit ng singer-politician.
