KIT Thompson was part of PBB Teen Edition 4, half-Filipino/half-New Zealander. He did some TV shows like “Kapag Puso’y Sinugatan” in 2012 with Andi Eigenmann when he was 15 years old and the movie “Hashtag Y” but he got into some controversial stuff and left for the U.S. where he studied acting. He left as a teenager and returned as a more mature man, in looks and in outlook in life. He was in the U.S. when he got an offer from Atty. Joji V. Alonso to play the male lead in the current Cinemalaya entry, “Belle Douleur (Beautiful Pain)”.

“We need someone young, half the age of Mylene Dizon who plays the female lead, at kailangan matangkad para alam niyang Mylene might be older but he’s bigger than her. And he must be really good looking for someone like Mylene who has resolved to remain single fall for him,” explains Atty. Joji. “Kit auditioned, had a video audition with us and Mylene approve of him. Dapat, may approval ni Mylene kasi nga they have intimate scenes together. Kit was only 21 when we shot the movie and Mylene was 44 naman.”

Before the movie premiered at Cinemalaya, Kit also got to do a soap, “Mea Culpa”, and a digital series, “MOMOL NIghts” on iWant. All those who’ve seen “Belle Douleur” concur that Kit is perfect as Josh, the young hunk who sweeps Mylene off her feet and everyone is now predicting he’ll be the next big leading man in local showbiz. He did several daring love scenes with Mylene, one of which involves butt exposure and some pumping. Didn’t he have second thoughts about it?

“No, I loved the script after I’ve read it and I think it’s the perfect vehicle for me to resume my showbiz career,” he says.

Some folks tried to bring up the controversies he figured in before, like a sex video scandal, but he’d rather not dwell on them. “I made a lot of mistakes but move on na lang tayo from there. That is past na, e. So, you know, we just learn from our mistakes. The important thing is kahit gumawa ka ng something reckless, stupid or irresponsible, dapat, matuto ka na.”

So now, he’s starting over and it’s good to have positive feedback for his performance in “Belle Douleur”. “I really enjoyed making the film with Mylene. She was very helpful when I’m struggling in some scenes and it’s an honor to work with a great actress like her. As for Direk Joji, she knows what she wants. She’s well prepared, very specific and detailed in her shots, in everything. I’m happy to be part of the very first movie she directed.”

Did he get turned on while doing the hot love scenes with Mylene? “It’s impossible to get turned on when there are about 30 other people on the set looking at you. We had a sensuality workshop to remove our inhibitions and we’re both aware we’re just doing our job as actors. I was more concerned on how I’ll deliver my performance than anything else.”

Has he ever had a relationship with an older woman? “Yes, she was about 12 years older than me. But it didn’t last very long. I now have a non-showbiz girlfriend named Lea and I will definitely take her to watch ‘Belle Douleur’ with me.”

“Belle Douleur” is now showing at the CCP and selected theaters but it will have a nationwide release starting August 14.
