AFTER last year's “Impostora” that lasted for more than half a year, Kris Bernal now scores with another certified hit in her latest soap, “Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko”, which is now the top show in GMA-7’s Afternoon Prime.

“I’m so happy to be given shows by GMA na kakaiba talaga ang storyline,” she says. “Kagaya nga nitong ‘Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko’, na wala akong kamalay-malay as Rachel na ang rival ko pala over the affections of Rayver Cruz as Gavin is my own former husband, si Jason Abalos as Nathan, na nag-transform into the transgender woman na si Venus played by Thea Tolentino.”

But it looks like that Kris will soon discover the secret of Venus, that she is actually her ex-husband. Venus’ former lover when he was still Nathan, Matthias Rhoads, turns up to be a friend of Rayver and he might be the key for the truth about Venus to be revealed.

The unique storyline is complemented by the very persuasive acting of all the actors in the cast, so it’s not a surprise that a lot of viewers are following its every episode on afternoons after “Eat Bulaga”. Kris is one star who’s also a successful entrepreneur. She has her own Korean restaurant with her businessman boyfriend named Perry Choi and she has also launched her own beauty line called She Cosmetics with her first line of lipsticks formulated and packaged in Korea.

A few weeks ago, she went to the U.S. on a vacation with her family.  She went to Los Angeles, where she has bought her own house (in West Covina), in time for the birthday of her of her older sister Katie who lives there. They visited the Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah and then also stayed in Las Vegas.
