MIKEE Quintos is feeling proud because of the positive feedback she’s getting for her portrayal of the good daughter, Maila, in “Onanay”. “It’s a difficult role kasi lagi akong umiiyak sa mga pang-aaping ginagawa sa’kin, ilang beses din akong natarayan, nasampal, but okay lang, it’s all part of the job,” she says.

Kate as her sister Natalie is so harsh on her. What if she had a sibling like that in real life? “Well, fortunately, wala akong ganung kapatid. But the insight I gained from Kate’s character, Natalie, is that no matter how bad a person might be to you, there’s is still some goodness that remains in her, kahit kaunti. And if you’re going to pay 'yung masasamang ginagawa sa’yo ng kabaitan and try to find out why salbahe siya sa’yo, eventually, magiging mabait din siya sa iyo. Pero kung gaganti ka lang, your conflict will never be resolved.”

Mikee is saying goodbye to her teenage years as she’s turning 20 on December 18. What’s her birthday wish?

What about her love life? “Wala po. Matagal nang wala.”

Has she never had a boyfriend? “Isa pa lang. Two years ago. After him, wala na kasi naging masyado na akong busy.”

It will be Christmas soon. What is her Christmas wish? “It’s for our show, ‘Onanay’. I really need a good break kasi nakakapagod din pagsabayin ang acting at eskwela for several months now.”
