PATRICIA Javier made a lot of heads turn while she was sashaying on the ramp as the celebrity model of topnotch designer Don Cristobal. This was at the “Fashion for Passion” event, with Veronica Ho as chairperson, of the Rotary Club of Cubao, QC held at the Novotel Ballroom on Saturday night. The fund-raising show is for the benefit of the Philippine Cancer Society, Dugong Alay Dugtong Buhay Inc. for bloodletting, and Love Yourself Foundation that fosters HIV and Aids awareness.
Patricia is easily the most ravishing and the most gorgeous among the models, with her wearing her crown and sash as the country’s representative to the coming Noble Queen of the Universe Pageant to be held at the Manila Hotel on December 1st. Don Cristobal’s elegant red gown with its very high slit also becomes her, fitting her perfectly that she looks like a stunning apparition and epitome of fabulous Filipina beauty on stage. No wonder she got a lot of applause and was later besieged by fans who want to have her picture taken with them.
Patricia later joined our table and we asked her where her husband, Dr. Robert Walcher, is. “He cannot make it,” she says. “Kasi, last minute, our yaya said they will take the weekend off, so our two sons, walang kasama sa bahay and he volunteered to stay with them. Buti na lang talaga at very supportive ang husband ko when I’m participating in worthy events like this.”
She ate very little during dinner. “Konti lang talaga ako kumain ngayon, in preparation for the pageant in December. Kailangan talaga, fit na fit tayo. Tuluy-tuloy rin ang training ko on how to compete with Roger Flores of Kagandahang Flores. He’s really helping me a lot.”
Her resident designer is Regine Tolentino but she’s happy to have met Don, who is also the designer of stylish bayong bags that all his models proudly carried on stage as they paraded on the ramp. Don’s shop is in California Gardens, Highway Hills, Mandaluyong and you can see his latest apparel and bag collections there.
The Fashion for Passion event also gave away special awards for People of Inspiration which include screen writer Ricardo Lee, Sheree Chua who supports cancer patients in the south, Pinky Antonio who helps marginalized communities, Dr. Jennie Diaz who specializes in dermatologic and laser surgery and designers Albert Andrada and Jun Escario. Gina Sy of the Rotary Club of Lipa West is named People of Action awardee while Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is the Ambassador of Humanity awardee. Patricia later invited Pia to visit her husband's clinic, chiropractor Dr. Robert Walcher, and Pia says she'd certainly show up one of these days.
