VINCENT Soberano is a newbie as far as local film industry is concerned. He is directing and also starring in the action film, 'The Trigonal' which also stars Rhian Ramos, taekwondo expert and theater actor Ian Ignacio, Monsour del Rosario, Epy Quizon and wushu expert Sarah Chang.
But Vincent's credentials could speak more than how local viewers would perceive him to be.
Vincent Soberano studied film and television in San Diego, California, where he first started working for Stu Segall Productions in 1991. He later moved to Los Angeles and worked in a variety of film projects until eventually transitioning to the IT industry. Vincent now works on various film projects, both behind and in front of the camera. He is the director of the award-winning documentary film, "On The Brink: Uncharted Waters" (2016) which has been selected and awarded in various film festivals. He also wrote and directed another award-winning short film, "Blood Hunters" which won Best Short Film at UASE in 2016 and got funding for the full-length feature "Blood Hunters: Rise of the Hybrids" (2018). His recent works as writer and director include the martial arts epic drama, "The Trigonal" (2018) premiering in Cannes on May 12, 2018, and "We Are War" (2018). He was the action director of "Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad" (2017) which broke Philippine box office records in December 2017. He is also the producer and director of the new horror action film "Circle of Bones" (2018).
Vincent Soberano is also an actor with credits in Jackie Chan's "Police Story: Lockdown" (2013), the UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter (China): First Season" (2014), "Blood Hunters," "Blood Hunters: Rise of the Hybrids (2018)," "The Trigonal (2018)," and will also be taking on a lead role this year in the war action film "Mistah."
