ROCHELLE Pangilinan is back doing a primetime soap in “The Gift”, which is now shown on GMA Telebabad right after "Beautiful Justice". Her last show was “Onanay” where she played a good character as the caring friend of Jo Berry. This time, she plays a contravida role in “The Gift” as Francine, the executive assistant and also secret lover of Christian Vasquez as Javier, who’s married to Jean Garcia as Nadia, the biological mother of Alden Richards as the blind hero, Sep.
Rochelle gave birth to her and Arthur Solinap’s first born, a baby girl they call Shiloh, six months ago and she’s really been raring to return to work. In fairness to her, she was able to quickly lose all the weight during her pregnancy and is now back in fighting form.
“Talagang pinagsikapan ko munang mawala 'yung excess weight that I gained noong buntis pa ako ako bago tumanggap uli ng bagong show,” she says. “Enjoy ako kasi naging bait-baitan ako sa huli kong teleserye and this time, balik kontrabida ako na tinik sa buhay ni Jean Garcia kasi inaagaw ko ang mister niya.”
But she is having a hard time going back to villain mode. “Kasi ang saya-saya ng buhay ko ngayon. Happy ako with my husband and our daughter so laging maganda ang mood ko kaya mahirap magalit sa eksena. E, palagi pa naman akong masungit at mataray rito sa ‘The Gift’, kaya effort talaga.”
She says she’s so happy to be a mother.
But they sometimes have a conflict about raising their daughter. “Kasi ako, I tend to spoil her.
