CNN Philippines — Another celebrity has contracted the novel coronavirus.

Actress Sylvia Sanchez announced Tuesday that she and her husband Art Atayde tested positive for COVID-19.

She shared that both of them were experiencing symptoms such as chills, cough, and shortness of breath before visiting the hospital on March 24.

"We were made to take the COVID-19 swab test and since then, Art and I have self-isolated," she said on an Instagram post showing both of their test results. "A week later, we finally received the results and we both came out positive for COVID19.”

Sanchez assured that they are doing well, but urged everyone they had been in contact with recently to check if they have similar symptoms.

"Art and I are getting better each day. Although this is slower than our usual recovery, we know that with prayers and strict compliance with our doctor’s orders, we will get there," she said.

The award-winning actress is the third celebrity known to have been infected with COVID-19 after fellow actors Christopher de Leon and Iza Calzado. De Leon has since been discharged from the hospital while Calzado already tested negative.

3Sanchez has starred in several TV shows and movies including the ongoing drama series “Pamilya Ko.” Sanchez and Atayde are also the parents of actors Arjo Atayde and Ria Atayde.
