Louie Reyes and Cesar dela Fuente
With couple Louie Reyes and Cesar dela Fuente.

IN our recent two-week vacation in California, USA, we're glad that we were able to meet a couple of showbiz personalities na matagal-tagal na ring naka-base sa America, ang mag-asawang Louie Reyes and Cesar de la Fuente at mga actress na sina Beth Tamayo at Leni Santos.

Last April 20, my West Covina-based couple friends, Dr. Cesar Jimenez and his wife, former choreographer-dancer Chato Sugay Jimenez hosted an intimate dinner (for me) at the East Buffet (at the City of Industry) attended by couple Louie Reyes and Cesar de la Fuente, Hollywood reporter friends Oliver Carnay and Raymond Lo, Los Angeles concert producer Amor Yu, a relative and kababayan Dr. Alvin Cadalin, among others.

Louie and Cesar (formerly with the New Minstrels) have been staying in L.A. for over two decades now.  Bukod sa aktibo pa rin si Louie sa kanyang singing career both in the US and abroad, she is a voice teacher at the Arts Development School of Music in Bellflower, California.  She’s also a private voice coach to local talents in California.  Every once in a while ay bumabalik si Louie sa Pilipinas for special shows and concerts. Ilan sa mga naging kasamahan noon ni Louie sa The New Minstrels who became successful as solo artists including the late Eugene Villaluz, Ray Ann Fuentes (who is now a preacher and an Evangelical singer in Canada), Ding Mercado, Joey Albert, Chard Borja, Pat Castillo, among others.

Kahit matagal nang disbanded ang The New Minstrels, Louie told us na paminsan-minsan ay nagkakaroon umano sila ng  special reunion concerts and shows and they stay in touch with each other kahit nasa magkakaibang lugar and field na sila ngayon.
