Z POP Dream is a new group of male and female singers-dancers from 7 Asian countries: the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Taiwan and Japan. Viva Communications brought them to Manila and they were presented to the press at Teatrino last Thursday. “Viva feels privileged to be part of this new concept in making stars,” says Boss Vic del Rosario of Viva, the partner of Glimmer, which represents Z-Pop in Manila. “This goes beyond K-Pop and has a One-Asia goal that will not only create stars but revolutionize the methods used in the global entertainment industry.”
Z-Pop was formed by K-Pop visionary and Zenith Media Contents head Jun Kang who says Z stands for Generation Z and Z-Pop is opening a new chapter of cultural exchange for Asia. The members were recruited by holding auditions in different Asian countries. One boy and one girl were recruited from each country and all of them were then brought to Korea for rigid training. They had their debut concert in Seoul on February 23 and they were warmly received by the 7,000 people who watched them.
In Manila, they’ll be available for meet and greet today, on Sunday, March 31, at SM Dasmarinas, 3 PM; SM Sucat, 6p.m., then they will be the special guests of Billy Crawford, James Reid and Sam Concepcion in their The Crew concert at Araneta Coliseum on April 5. They will launch their debut recordings, “What You Waiting For”, for the Z-Pop Girls and “No Limit” for the Z-Pop Boys.
