A 57-year-old former barangay chairman in Manila was found dead the other day after allegedly shooting himself in the head inside Cluster B of Building 2 at the Manila North Green Park Cemetery in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Initial investigation by Pat. Butch Baladjay of the Manila Police District -homicide section said the victim., a former chairman of Barangay 16 and resident of Tondo, Manila, was found lifeless, sprawled on a pool of blood and with a gunshot wound in the left temple by construction workers Manuel Santos, 41 and Napoleon Roberos, 54, inside Building 2 at 11:04 a.m.
The two were said to be doing construction work at the third floor of the said building when they heard a gunshot. When they checked, they found the victim already dead and immediately informed the building’s security officer. A .45 cal. gun with three live bullets was found beside him.
Meanwhile, the police continues to investigate the incident to establish if there was foul play or not and what the reason for the suicide may be.
