LUCENA CITY — A former drug convict turned fish vendor was shot dead by two unidentified men riding in tandem on a motorcycle along Diversion Road, Purok Ilang-Ilang 1, Brgy. Silangang Mayao, here, on Tuesday.

Quezon police director Col. Ericson Dilag said Joelan Revadulla, 34, resident of Pagbilao, Quezon, suffered two fatal gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

Dilag said Revadulla was selling fish in the said village at around 6 p.m. when a back rider of a motorcycle shot him twice at close range hitting his head.

City police chief, Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea said a SOCO team from the Quezon Provincial Crime Laboratory (QPCLO) led by Major Dickson Mercado recovered two empty shells from a .45 caliber pistol.

Quoting police records, Albacea disclosed that Revadulla was arrested by policemen on August 6, 2017 at Purok Ilang-Ilang, Bgy. Silangang Mayao in this city for drug pushing and was subsequently charged with violations of Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

Albacea said Revedulla who was a member of RAFI Drug Group was eventually released from jail after he availed of the government’s plea bargain agreement.
