The long arm of the law finally caught up with dismissed Bamban, Pampanga Mayor Alice Guo.
Bureau of Immigration (BI ) Commissioner Norman Tansingco announced having received information from Indonesian authorities that former Mayor Guo has been arrested in Tangerang City in Jakarta, Indonesia at around 1:30 a.m. of September 4, 2024.
“The information has been confirmed by our immigration counterparts in Indonesia and we are very happy with this development,” said Tansingco.
He added: “We have immediately forwarded the information to the Department of Justice and the Office of the Executive Secretary and we are anticipating her return to the Philippines soon.
The BI chief expressed belief that Guo’s return to the Philippines would shed light to many questions about her illegal departure, as well as allow her to face numerous cases being filed against her.
Guo is currently in the custody of the Indonesian Police at Jatanras Mabes Polri.
