FAITH Da Silva is the daughter of former actor Dennis Da Silva who is now in prison on drug charges. She joined Startstruck before but sadly didn’t make it. GMA however continued to give her projects.
“Mostly, I played villain roles in shows like ‘Sahaya’, ‘Tadhana’, ‘Magpakailanman’, and now I’m playing villain again to Barbie Forteza and Kate Valdez in ‘Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday’,” she says.
Writers who have seen before when she first joined Starstruck noticed that she looks much prettier now. “Mukhang beauty queen na ang dating mo, a,” they tell her.
“Nagpapayat po kasi ako,” she says. “Before, marami pa akong baby fats that need to be toned down. At saka siyempre po, since then, I gained more self confidence. Before, sobrang mahiyain pa ako, now I know to carry myself better and relate with other people.”
Does she also intend to join a beauty pageant? “Balak ko po, pero siguro, later na. Kasi 18 pa lang ako. Dapat paghandaan ko munang mabuti, lalo na yung question and answer portion para mas confident sumagot.”
Has she met her dad? “Not yet po. I was only two years old when he went to prison and I have no memory of him. For a while, parang may galit pa nga ako sa kanya and parang ikinahihiya ko siya kasi nakakulong siya. But I have since then learned to accept the situation and wala naman na akong magagawa roon.”
So how come she has not visited him in prison? “May communication naman po kami, sa phone, but I have yet to be truly ready na ma-meet ko siya in person. Kami ng younger brother ko na siya rin po ang ama. Pinaghahandaan ko muna yung pagkikita namin. If ever, dapat ready na ako 100 percent when that time comes. There is also talk na baka makalabas na rin naman daw siya kasi sobrang tagal na niya in prison. So sana, sa labas na lang kami mag-meet and not in jail.”
Does she know that Ruffa Gutierrez was his dad’s first girlfriend when Ruffa was only 13 years old? “Yes po. May nagkuwento sa akin. Nag-meet kami sa taping ng isang episode ng ‘Dear Uge’ pero hindi muna ako agad nagpakilala sa kanya. It’s only after the taping, noong malapit na mag-uwi when I told her ‘Miss Ruffa, anak po ako ni Dennis Da Silva. She was so surprised! Sabi niya, ‘Oh my God, nakakaloka! Halika nga, mag-picture tayo’. So we had our picture together and very warm naman siya. She even said kamukha ko raw si Papa.”Publication Source : People's Journal
