Fake diploma maker nabbed by MPD

A 49-year-old man engaging in the manufacture of fake diplomas was arrested during an entrapment operation by operatives from the Manila Police District -District Intelligence Division (DID)Tracker team on Tuesday afternoon on Claro M. Recto Avenue in Brgy. 395, Sampaloc. Manila.

Now in the custody of the MPD-DID is suspect Mario Talastasin alias Mar, of No. 315 Libis Gochuico, Brgy. 22, Caloocan City.

DID chief PLt Col John Guiagui said the suspect was nabbed at 4:12 p.m. after accepting P500 in payment of a fake diploma as requested by a police asset who posed as a customer.

Confiscated from the suspect was a fake diploma, a fake receipt and the P500 marked money.

Meantime, charges for violation of Art. 172(Falsification of Public Documents) of the Revised Penal Code was filed against the suspect before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
