Far Eastern University, Ateneo, Adamson in vital games

FAR Eastern University-Diliman, Ateneo and Adamson try to seal the remaining three Final Four berths as they face struggling foes today in the UAAP juniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Baby Tamaraws take on UP Integrated School at 1 p.m., the Blue Eaglets play University of Santo Tomas at 9 a.m., while the Baby Falcons clash with La Salle-Zobel at 3 p.m.

Early semifinalist National University tries to assure itself of a playoff for the twice-to-beat slot against University of the East at 11 a.m.

The Bullpups are lording it over the standings with a 10-1 card and are also unbeaten in the second round.

FEU-Diliman and Ateneo are locked in a tight battle for No. 2 with identical 8-3 records, while Adamson holds a 7-4 record in fourth place.

The Tiger Cubs (5-6) are two games out of the last semis slot and an upset over the Eaglets will put some pressure on the Baby Falcons to pull through against the sixth-running Junior Archers, who at 4-7 are nursing slim hopes to make it to the next round via the backdoor.

A loss by UST coupled by an Adamson win will complete the Final Four cast.

After losing back-to-back games to NU, Ateneo got back on track by winning its last two contests.

After losing to the Eaglets, the Baby Tamaraws rebounded with a 99-82 conquest of the Junior Warriors to stay level with the defending champions.
