National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Jaime Santiago announced the arrest of a father who allegedly molested his own five-year-old son.
Santiago said the suspect was nabbed by NBI Organized and Transnational Crimes division agents in his home on Tuesday night following a complaint lodged against him by his own wife, the victim’s mother.
The mother said she was bathing their son when she saw a wound in his butt and found out about what happened, so that she brought him to a doctor for examination.
“Pinaliguan ko ang anak ko, hinugasan ko ang puwet. Tapos pagtingin ko may pula, pinicturan ko. [Sabi ko] ‘Anak bakit mapula ito?’ Hindi raw niya alam… Sabi ng doktor dalhin ko sa medico- legal,” the mother said.
It was learned that in 2022, the victim was jailed after raping the victim and his own wife but that he was able to post bail and make up with his wife, something which the wife says she now regrets.
The suspect meanwhile claimed that the charges are fabricated, adding that his wife wants him jailed because she is having an illicit affair, even as he strongly denied all charges past and present.
He said that the victim’s butt was red because he had diarrhea.
This, however, was rebuffed by the NBI, saying it was clear from the medico-legal report that the child had been raped.
Jerome Bomediano of the NBI-OTCD said the suspect will be charged with rape and child abuse while his wife and their son will undergo counseling.
