Feb. 16 special non-working holiday in Caloocan

CALOOCAN City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan has declared February 16, 2021 as a special non-working holiday in the city in celebration of its 59th founding anniversary.

Mayor Oca said in his Executive Order that under Republic Act 7550, February 16 of every year in Caloocan was declared as Special Non-Working Holiday to give the people the full opportunity to celebrate and actively participate in the various festivities and programs prepared by the city government.

He said all the prepared activities related to the celebration will be held online in compliance with public health standards.

In connection with this, Mayor Oca invites the people of Caloocan to join the Online Photo Contest and the Online Audio-Visual Presentation contest launched by the Caloocan City Cultural Affairs and Tourism Office.

The theme of the Audio-Video Visual Presentation should focus on the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) council’s projects and participation during the pandemic.

A grand prize of P30,000 will be awarded to the winner on Audio Video Visual Presentation while P10,000 will be granted to the winner of Online Photo Contest.

Mayor Oca said the winning entry will be featured in Cong. Along TV as one of the segments for the special episode.
