Female online trader shot dead in Cabanatuan City

CABANATUAN CITY — A woman engaged in online selling was gunned down by two unidentified motorcycle-riding men here on Sunday night.

City Police chief Lt. Col Barnard Danie Dasugo said the victim, Joan Santos, 32, of Purok 5, Bgy. Bantug Norte,was driving her kolong-kolong (skeleton-tricycle) with her cousin John Paul De Guzman when she was waylaid at 6:20 p.m.

Dasugo said the gun attack was perpetrated by two unidentified suspects when the victim reached Purok Acacia, Bgy. Pangatian.

Santos, who was on her way to Bgy. Bangad, died on the spot after sustaining several gunshot wounds to the head.

Dasugo said the two suspects managed to escape.

Meanwhile, in Bongabon town, a businessman identified as Albert Duran, 64, of Bgy. Santor, was wounded after being attacked by two suspects inside his rice mill at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the victim was hit in the stomach, legs and arms when the suspects barged inside the rice mill and fired at him several times.

The was immediately rushed to the Bongabon District Hospital and later transferred to the Good Samaritan Hospital here for treatment.

Police recovered six spent bullets for cal.45 at the crime scene.
