OPERATIVES of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) arrested a 62-year-old woman allegedly after she attempted to transport illegal drugs during routine security screening.
The woman was nabbed in the early afternoon of May 28, 2025 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 at around 1 p.m.
It was learned that authorities conducted an operation at the Final Security Screening Checkpoint in the International Departure Area leading to the apprehension of the suspect, who was scheduled to board a flight bound for Bacolod City.
Recovered from her hand-carry baggage was a box containing approximately two kilograms of a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu.
Aside from the illegal drugs worth around P13,763,200, also seized during the operation were cellular phone, digital weighing scale, travel documents and identification cards.
Presently, the suspect is in the custody of authorities and will face charges for violation of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
